STATUS: Exempt 

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 – $110 000/year based on experience & qualifications

LOCATION: Bellingham, WA, onsite

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Formulation Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a graduate-level candidate with experience in agrochemical formulation and a strong background in chemistry and nanotechnology. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of novel product development and be familiar with relevant characterization techniques.

Primary Job Functions: 

  • Operate and work within our Mission Driven Culture Core Values and Principles
  • Develop and optimize agrochemical formulations to meet performance and stability requirements.
  • Conduct research and experiments to innovate and improve existing products.
  • Utilize physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry knowledge to solve complex formulation challenges.
  • Employ relevant characterization techniques to analyze and validate formulation properties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure successful product development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of research, experiments, and formulation processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging R&D, and regulatory requirements in the agrochemical sector.
  • Data analyses and present findings to internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Experience and knowledge of Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in agrochemical formulation and product development.
  • Strong understanding of physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop novel products and improve existing formulations.
  • R&D experience in the agrochemical industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in the agrochemical industry.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design.
  • Familiarity with advanced formulation technologies and methodologies.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Work is performed within Tidal Vision’s Laboratory. This position will be expected and required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas and while on-site. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. Candidate must be able to walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, and move freely with minimal limitation. Hiring is conditional upon background check.
